Terms of service
Last updated: 2026-05-17
The short version
- You must be 18 or older to use Jobinder.
- Job search is free for tradespeople — forever. We never charge a worker to find work.
- You're responsible for what you put in your profile and messages. Be honest, be civil, don't harass people, don't post other people's information without their consent.
- We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or break applicable law.
- You can close your account at any time, no penalty, no data lock-in.
- Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the courts of Amsterdam.
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Jobinder app, website and related services (“Jobinder”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using Jobinder you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Jobinder is operated by the founding team while the legal entity is being incorporated. Once incorporated, the operating company's name, registration number and address will appear here.
2. Who can use Jobinder
- You must be 18 or older. We may ask for proof and suspend accounts we believe belong to minors.
- You can sign up as a worker or as a company. Workers create personal profiles. Company accounts must be authorised by the company to act on its behalf.
- One account per person / one account per company. Duplicate accounts may be merged or suspended.
- We can refuse service to anyone whose account has previously been closed for violations, or to comply with applicable sanctions.
3. Free for workers — always
Job search on Jobinder is and will always be free for individual tradespeople. No paywall on signup, swipe, match or chat. We may offer paid acceleration features in the future (better visibility, super likes), but they will never be required to find work. Companies may pay for subscriptions and listing volume.
4. Your account
- You sign in by email magic-link or, in the future, via verified providers (LinkedIn for workers, KvK for Dutch companies).
- Keep your email account secure — anyone with access to it can sign in as you.
- Notify us at privacy@jobinder.app if you suspect your account was used without your permission.
5. Your content
You own what you post — photos, bio, messages, company description, the lot. By posting it, you grant Jobinder a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display and transmit it to the other users of the service strictly to operate the matching and chat features. We don't use your content to advertise, train AI models, or sell to third parties.
You confirm that:
- The content is yours to post, or you have permission to post it.
- It does not contain personal information about third parties without their consent (no photos of co-workers, customers, family members without consent).
- It is not defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexual, or illegal.
- For companies: job listings and salary bands are honest and accurate representations of what you actually offer.
We may remove content that breaks these rules or applicable law, and may suspend or close accounts that repeatedly post problematic content.
6. How matching works
Jobinder shows worker and company profiles in turn. A swipe right indicates interest. When both sides swipe right, a match is created and both parties can message inside that match.
There is no opaque scoring algorithm. We do not artificially boost certain accounts, nor do we hide accounts that have declared a salary different from the company's typical band. See /how-it-works for the full mechanic.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Jobinder for anything other than connecting with a potential employer or worker.
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or send sexual content to other users.
- Discriminate against users based on protected characteristics.
- Scrape, copy, or systematically collect data from Jobinder beyond what the app exposes to your account.
- Reverse-engineer, attempt to bypass security controls, or interfere with operation of the service.
- Use Jobinder to offer services that are illegal in the Netherlands or your country.
- Impersonate someone else, including using a company name that is not yours to represent.
Reports go to privacy@jobinder.app. We review reports and act on findings; we do not share the identity of reporters with the reported account.
8. Suspension and account closure
We may suspend or close your account if you violate these Terms, abuse other users, or break applicable law. We'll typically warn you first; in severe cases (harassment, fraud, illegality) the closure is immediate. Closed accounts and their content may be retained for up to 12 months for abuse review and to prevent re-registration; see the privacy policy for details.
You can close your account any time from /me/account. We don't lock you in.
9. No guarantees about outcomes
Jobinder is a platform for two sides to meet — we do not guarantee that you will find a job, hire someone, receive a particular salary, or that any given match will result in an offer or acceptance. We don't act as an employment agency and we are not a party to any employment contract that results from a match.
Companies are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, salary bands, perk claims, and compliance with employment law. Workers are responsible for the accuracy of their experience claims, certifications and qualifications.
10. Service availability
We aim to keep Jobinder available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance is announced when feasible. We are not liable for losses caused by temporary unavailability.
11. Intellectual property
Jobinder, the brand, the design and the underlying code are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service as intended by these Terms.
12. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch consumer law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages; for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these Terms; or for losses caused by your own breach of these Terms.
For paid features (when available), our maximum aggregate liability for a particular subscriber in any 12-month period is the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13. Changes to the service or these terms
We may change Jobinder over time — features come and go, bugs are fixed, UI evolves. Material changes to these Terms will be communicated by email to active users at least 14 days before they take effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect; continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes between you and Jobinder that cannot be resolved by good-faith conversation will be submitted to the competent courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands — without prejudice to your statutory rights as a consumer to bring proceedings in the jurisdiction where you reside.
You can also reach out to the EU online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.
